Mrs Anita Choudhary, Blue Bells International School, New Delhi.

PROFILE

Mrs Anita Choudhary has been with Blue Bells International School, New Delhi for the last eight years. Until last year she had been teaching History. At present, she is the academic supervisor of the school as well as the resource person for Social Studies.

Mrs Choudhary completed her BA and MA in History from Lady Shri Ram College in the years 1977 and 1979 respectively. She started her schooling from Sophia Convent, Ajmer before she passed out with a gold medal from Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan in 1974. She did her BEd from Annamalai University and MEd from Delhi University.

She began her teaching career in 1985 as a senior History teacher in Delhi's Presentation Convent School, where she also organised workshops and seminars. For her fresh approach to her subject and popularity among her students, she was declared the Best Teacher of the school in 1987.

She went to Patna in 1990 where for five years she taught History and English at Don Bosco School.

Mrs Choudhary came back to Delhi and joined Mount Carmel before joining Blue Bells International.

In 2003, she was selected by the Australian High Commission to go to Australia as part of a Teacher Exchange Programme.

Apart from teaching, Mrs Choudhary is deeply interested in childrens' issues. In 2002, she attended an extensive three-day workshop on 'Learning Disabilities' organised by the National Institute of Public Cooperation and Child Development.

Mrs Choudhary regularly contributes to newspapers and magazines and participates in radio programmes.
