PROFILE
Sunita Thassu is a versatile teacher. After graduating
from Kashmir University with BSc honours, she
went on to complete her B Ed. In 1992 she joined
as PRT Science in Greenfield Public School, Saket.
She went on to become TGT Science in August 1996.
Apart from experimenting with innovative teaching
methods and resources, she is also a firm believer
in the all-round personality development of the
students. She thus takes a keen interest in preparing
students for various quiz programmes, debates
and other inter-school activities.
Her
perseverance and initiative in her profession
has won her awards. She was the recipient of McDonald’s
Teacher Appreciation Award in 1999 and 2001. She
also received a certificate of appreciation for
achieving distinction in the “Pursuit of
excellence in Education” at a seminar on
Teaching and Learning in 2002.
Sunita Thassu has also authored
a Science and Technology textbook based on the
latest NCERT syllabus for Class VII for the academic
session of 2005.
Her other interests include reading,
listening to music and learning languages. Apart
from Hindi and Kashmiri, she is well-versed in
the Punjabi language also.
