PROFILE

Ms Ila Prakash Mittal is the Headmistress of Tagore International School, East of Kailash, New Delhi. She completed her MA as well as her BEd in English from the University of Delhi and acquired another BEd degree in Social Studies from the University of Annamalai.

Ms Mittal's teaching career spans 12 years and dates back to 1994 when she started her career at the Shri Ram School, Gurgaon. She has taught in other eminent schools like the Birla Vidya Niketan and Apeejay School, Faridabad, Haryana. At the Tagore International School where she works as the Headmistress, her work includes, apart from teaching middle and high school, curriculum research, development and implementation, teacher supervision, educational planning and liaising with the Directorate of Education.

Ms Mittal conducts regular workshops related to reading habits, assessments and record keeping, improving unacceptable behaviour and creating a caring classroom, etc. She also conducts in service training for primary teachers. Besides academics Ms Mittal takes special interest in training her students in dramatics and public speaking.

With a busy work life that includes teaching as well as administration, Ms Mittal cherishes her hobby of painting which she pursues for leisure.
