PROFILE

Mrs Neera Verma is a versatile teacher. A gold medalist from Lucknow University she has been associated with the academic field since 1963. She started her career as a lecturer in English at the K R Girls Degree College, Mathura. At present she is Head of the Department of English of St Xavier’s College, Delhi. She is also the Coordinator of Activities the same.

She has won several esteemed awards. In 1988, she won the second prize in the All India Essay Competition conducted by NCERT. On 5 September 2000, she was awarded the Dr Sarvpalli Radhakrishnan Memorial National Teaching Recognition 2000 by the All India Independent Journalist’s and Writer’s Association for outstanding contribution to the field of education.

Mrs Neera Verma has varied interests. She is an avid reader and a painter. She enjoys classical Indian Dance especially Bharat Natyam and Kathak. She enjoys visiting new places and has traveled extensively.
