Mrs Snehlata Khorana is a senior teacher of Hindi
in Delhi Public School, Ghaziabad. She has been
with the school for the last 12 years.
She
completed her graduation from Agra University.
Mrs Khorana is a triple MA having done Masters
in Psychology, Public Administration and Hindi.
She did her BEd from Annamalai University.
With
three subjects to choose from, Mrs Khorana opted
to become a teacher of Hindi when she began her
career at Venkateshwara Matriculation High Secondary
School, Chennai, in 1979. She joined the prestigious
Adarsh Vidyalaya, Chennai, shortly afterwards,
before moving to Ghaziabad.
Having
lived and worked at a place where Hindi was not
even a second language, Mrs Khorana was aware
of the absence of an elementary book to teach
Hindi in Tamil Nadu. "
most of whom
I came across, loved Hindi and would even make
an effort to speak in the language but didn't
know where to go," Mrs Khorana said.
Along
with Mrs Nirmal Bhasin, Principal, Adarsh Vidyalaya,
Chennai, she wrote a book exclusively for the
Tamil-speaking students of the state. Bal Sulabh
Mala was published in a bilingual format to help
students appreciate the nuances of the Hindi language
better.
Apart from writing, which she counts as her passion,
Mrs Khorana is deeply into reading, especially
books on spirituality. "It keeps one's sanity
in difficult times," she reasons.
