PROFILE

Mrs Rekha Shahani is the Principal of the esteemed Kamla High School in Mumbai. She completed her schooling from Kamla High School itself and did her B A in Economics/ Commerce from Jai Hind College. She went on to do her M A in Sociology from Mumbai University. She also holds a degree in Educational Leadership from West Georgia University in the USA.

Her love for children made her join the teaching profession, which she once again began at Kamla High School. Today as the Principal of this school her roles and responsibilities have widened and she handles her position with quiet dignity.

She conducts workshops for teachers, parents, students, the corporate sector, school teachers in villages, Class IV workers and street children. Her interests are varied. Her hobbies range from music and dancing to reading, writing, travelling and meeting people.

Her love for Peace made her participate in the Indo-Pak People to People Dialogue for Peace and Prosperity held at Asia Plateau, Panchgani.

Her philosophy of life is based on Gandhiji’s vision “Be the change you want to see in the world”.
