She has twenty-two years of teaching experience. She is also the Co-ordinator, Department of English in a reputed school in Kolkata. As a field researcher of the CBSE-ELT Project, and an ELT resource person for CBSE, she has conducted a number of workshops on Communicative Teaching. She has also attended the CBSE Examiners’ Workshop, and has been an Examiner of the Class XII Board Examination for the past few years. She attended the British Council Summer School in the UK in 1997 on Evaluation as a Hornby Trust Award Beneficiary. She is currently associated with the British Council in the capacity of a certified examiner. She has also conducted ELT Workshops on behalf of Macmillan.
Mrs Palit believes that implementing the Communicative Methodology has undoubtedly been a challenging yet rewarding experience. Activity-based classes have made learning and teaching more enjoyable.
This is what Mrs Palit has to say about the partnership of education and technology. “Online teaching sounds very impressive, and this is precisely what the elt.emacmillan website is all about! It is truly a ‘trusted companion to the English teacher’, generating ideas and suggestions that enable a teacher to be innovative. The worksheets and assignments can be effectively used in the classroom as supplements to the existing teaching material. Perhaps it would be useful if teachers of various schools could devise worksheets or language games and share them with other English teachers.”
