The teacher of the month for July, 2001 was unanimously selected by our panel. The winner is Mr. Irfan Ahmed, NIS, Muscat, Sultanate of Oman.

PROFILE

Mr Irfan Ahmed is a senior faculty (English and Management) at NIS, Muscat, Oman (a division of NIIT). He has been actively involved in the fields of English and Management training in various cities in Oman. He has also completed training programmes in English for numerous reputed companies in Oman.

Mr Irfan Ahmed completed his Bachelors Degree in Business Management (1991-1994) from Mysore University. He simultaneously also did his Post Graduate Diploma in Computers from NIIT, Mysore. After that he worked for a year in Business to Business and Times of India. He has a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management from The Times School of Marketing, New Delhi (The Times of India Group) and a Masters in Business Administration from ENPC- Paris, France. He also has a Certificate in Teaching English from IGNOU, India.

Since 1997 he has been working with NIS, Oman as a senior faculty. He has been actively involved in the Gulf Operations of NIS and NIIT. Mr Irfan is also involved in conducting TOEFL and Management classes for corporate companies and individuals. He takes Management classes for Narsee Monjee and KTI. He has also passed several Certificates in Advanced English from University of Cambridge, U.K.

Currently Mr Irfan is undergoing his MA (English) from Mysore University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Teaching English from RIE. Next year he plans to pursue his Doctorate programme from the University Of Exeter, U.K.
